Frequently Asked Questions

How long is an online session?

About 15 minutes. Short workouts = shorter and easier coaching.

Can we choose to have the coaching sessions in person?

Sorry, right now we’re online only.

Do I have to download special software for the online sessions?

We use Zoom and will just email you a link for the session. You always have the chance to send a video of your workout instead, for even more convenience.

Can I choose my trainer?

If you have a preference for a male or female coach, let us know. As we’re a young company, we don’t have dozens of coaches to choose from, just a few all-stars.

What certifications do your trainers have?

We require our trainers to be certified by either the American Council on Exercise (https://www.acefitness.org), the Athletics and Fitness Association of America (https://www.afaa.com/), the American College of Sports Medicine (https://www.acsm.org/), or the National Academy of Sports Medicine (https://www.nasm.org). These are the most rigorous and legitimate certification programs and are relevant to strength training.

Do I need any strength training equipment?

No. During our first session, our coaches will see what equipment you have already (many people have something). If you have nothing, they’ll show a couple of resistance band kits online (we don’t make them), which cost < $30, so you can buy them and get started.

How do I prepare for an online session?

Put your phone in the holder that came with your kit – and put it about 6 feet in front of you. That will allow your trainer to see you as you exercise. Make sure it’s not too loud and – if possible – try to reduce any lights behind you, which make it harder to see you.

What device can I use for a session?

You can use any device for online coaching sessions, provided that it has a reliable connection, a webcam, and it can use the Zoom platform for meetings. Phones and tablets are fine, though having a stand so you can adjust the angle is a real help.

How do I schedule a session?

Once you purchase coaching sessions, you’ll get an email that will include a link to let you pick session times that work for you, without the back and forth hassle of scheduling.

When can I schedule a session?

Our coaches have wide availability, including nights and weekends.

What if I don’t like the first session?

Let us know and we’ll happily reimburse you for what you haven’t used.

Can I message my coach through the app?

If you buy coaching sessions, the coaching will focus on either a 1-on-1 video or you sending your coach a video to review and give you feedback. If you have a quick question, you will get your coach’s email address so you can ask. Otherwise the coach will review the video and the data you’ve entered using your app to give you suggestions about how to get even stronger faster.

What will happen during my first session?

During the first session, you’ll meet your coach, discuss your goals, review your strength training history (if any), and discuss what strength equipment you may have at home and what you may need to buy based on your goals. For most people we’ll be encouraging a $25 set of bands, which work for most beginners. During most other sessions, you’ll do a Faster Workout and your coach will watch and give you feedback afterwards, so you can get stronger faster while minimizing the risk of injury.

Are the sessions recorded? / Do I need to have my camera on during the session?

For quality assurance, we record each video. A sample of these are reviewed to keep making Faster Workouts even better. It also allows us to go back to when you started, so you can see how much progress you’ve made

MEET OUR COACHES

Charlotte Badger

Hi! My name is Charlotte and I am thrilled to be a coach with Faster Workouts! I joined the fitness industry in 2012 and am an ACE certified personal trainer. Growing up I was a self proclaimed “non-athlete” and had no idea how important strength training was. It wasn’t until I became a parent that I committed to a program in order to gain functional strength for my daily life. After I saw and felt the results of strength training, I was hooked.  When I decide to do something, I jump in 100% so being a participant in class wasn’t enough for me, I wanted to be a trainer. I got my certification and began teaching group fitness classes and doing individual personal training.

In 2021 I began coaching with Faster Workouts and have worked with clients as they increase not only their strength but their confidence in their abilities. My favorite part of coaching is helping people to see how strong they can become. This is something that I wish I had learned about myself earlier in life, so it is important to me to share that with others. When I am not coaching, I enjoy running, drinking Starbucks coffee, and spending time with my husband and daughters.
